The high school team won second place overall, receiving first place finishes in Boomilever, Chemistry Lab, Circuit Lab, Compound Machines, Disease Detectives, Forensics, and Technical Problem Solving, second place finishes in Anatomy and Physiology, Bungee Egg Drop, Elastic Launched Glider, and MagLev, and many other top five finishes.
The middle school team captured eight first place medals in the categories of Anatomy, Can’t Judge a Powder, Rotor Egg Drop, Simple Machines, Solar System, Disease Detectives, Entomology, and Water Quality. Additionally, Academy students placed in the top ten for 21 of the 23 events, including three 2nd place and four 3rd place finishes. This was a terrific showing for a team comprising one ninth grade, seven eighth grade, and three sixth grade students.
